Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Almost a year into the Los Lunas Boulevard multi-year road project the construction has moved into its next stage at NM 314 and Morris Road. Traffic at that intersection is down to one lane in each direction as crews build a detour crossover. This phase of construction has Juan Perea Road’s access to Morris Road and NM 314 permanently closed though local access to homes and businesses remain available. The main project is an almost four mile roadway that will connect I 25 to NM 47 and is expected to reduce traffic on Main Street by about 40% when completed. It will include a new interchange at Morris Road, a new bridge and a multi-use pedestrian and bicycle path. Construction began last August with Phase’s cost estimated at just over $159 million.
