ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – The New Mexico judiciary has launched a new service to help residents navigate the state’s civil court system.
The New Mexico Courts HelpLine connects callers with trained staff who can provide information about court procedures, forms, and filing requirements. Officials say the service is designed for people handling legal matters without an attorney.
The HelpLine offers guidance on a range of civil issues, including landlord-tenant disputes, consumer debt cases, and family law matters such as divorce and child custody.
While the service does not provide legal advice or recommendations, staff can direct callers to helpful resources, including court forms, self-help materials, and information about low- or no-cost legal services.
The HelpLine operates six days a week and is available in both English and Spanish, with interpreters offered for additional languages.
Court officials say the program is intended to expand access to legal information and make it easier for people to understand and navigate the court system.
