Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –It was a packed meeting in Socorro last night at NM Tech’s campus for a meeting on a proposed data center in Socorro County. Green Data is looking to build a 10,000 acre data center that will include solar panels between Socorro and Magdalena. NM Tech would lease the land to the center for 99 years. Concerns from residents include a lack of water supply. University leaders say they are in the beginning phases and they still have water, noise and environmental issues to investigate. NM Tech will host three more town hall meeting this summer with the next one planned for June.
