Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A Farmington man has now been federally charged after being accused of selling firearms and ammunition to an undercover law enforcement officer. According to court documents, Pete Kimbell allegedly told an undercover officer in September of 2025 that he had multiple firearms for sale. They agreed to meet up the next day for the firearm purchase. The undercover officer met up with Kimball the following day while surveillance units monitored the location and the officer wore a recording device. The officer observed and purchased multiple firearms and boxes of ammunition for about $2100. Kimbell is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. He is charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. Kimball is being detained pending a detention hearing which is scheduled for tomorrow (Wed).
