Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – Federal authorities have arrested two men accused of selling machine gun conversion devices and other weapons to undercover agents.
Robert Gurule and Izatah Hausner were arrested by undercover agents for selling 80 miachine gun coversion devices and several other firearms worth nearly $12,000.
According to federal documents, ATF agents had identified Gurule after seeing he was using Facebook to promote sales of firearms and suspected machine guns. In the social media ads, the videos showed him handling and firing a fully automatic firearm.
The case against the two men began last year and Gurule allegedly sold an agent a rifle with the conversion device for 16-hundred dollars and then again selling three machine guns and more weapons for about $4600.
Last week, Gurule and Hausner sold more weapons to an ATF agent and was immediately arrested. The two men now face several federal charges and if convicted could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
