Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –FEMA has approved $6.6 million to support Roswell’s recovery from a severe storm and flooding in 2024. The funding will be used by the City of Roswell to rebuild the Roswell Adult Center building, a community space for older adults that was severely damaged by the storm. The total cost of the project is estimated to be more than $8.8 million with the city paying the difference. The city is currently working to raise those funds. As a result of the flood, said to be the wettest day in Roswell’s recorded history, three people died and more than 500 rescues were performed.
