SANTA FE, N.M. — Republican Representative Rebecca Dow will appear on New Mexico’s Republican primary ballot after the state Supreme Court overturned a district court decision that previously disqualified her.
Earlier this month, a district court ruled that Dow should be removed from the June primary ballot for House District 38, which includes parts of Doña Ana, Sierra, and Socorro counties. The court found issues with Dow’s nominating petitions, saying screenshots she submitted did not include all information required for voters to review or potentially challenge the signatures.
Dow appealed the ruling to the New Mexico Supreme Court.
On Tuesday morning, the state’s highest court unanimously sided with Dow, reversing the district court decision and ordering that her name be reinstated on the Republican primary ballot.
The ruling clears the way for Dow to continue her campaign in District 38 ahead of the June primary election.
