Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Albuquerque Public Schools students will again start the school year early. The APS Board of Education has approved the calendar for the 2027–2028 school year, following a community survey that showed majority support for an early start. Under the approved calendar, classes will begin August 6, 2027, and wrap up May 25. The board also considered a later start date in mid-August, but that option was not selected. District leaders say the decision reflects community feedback.
