Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –After three fatal crashes in Santa Fe it’s now zero tolerance for seatbelt violations in Santa Fe. SFPD says the lack of proper seatbelt use in conjunction with other factors directly contributed to the deaths of the three drivers. That led to The Santa Fe Police Department’s Traffic Unit announcing a zero tolerance for vehicle occupants not wearing a seatbelt or improperly wearing a seatbelt. Effective immediately any observed violation will result in enforcement action by the SFPD’s Traffic Unit. They go on to stress, wearing a seat belt is not only the law, but it is also a simple action that saves lives. Buckle up every time you get in a vehicle.
