Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)- The first live debate between the candidates for Lt. Governor of New Mexico will take place today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. and will be streamed live here on newsradiokkob.com. Democrat candidate Stephanie Garcia Richard and Republican candidate David Gallegos will answer questions from a panel of journalists from the Albuquerque Journal, KOAT channel 7, and News Radio KKOB, on a variety of topics related to issues affecting New Mexicans such as issues with CYFD, food and health assistance programs, and others. This is so far the only debate scheduled for the upcoming November election as scheduling issues continue between both Governor candidates Gregg Hull and Deb Haaland. An announced debate by KOB TV 4 for October 8 between the Haaland and Hull may or may not take place. Haaland has turned down a debate with Fox affiliate KRQE TV and an invitation has been sent out by the same group organizing the Lt. Governor’s debate, the Albuquerque Journal, News Radio KKOB and KOAT but so far no commitment or date has been set.
