Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – The City of Albuquerque says changes are coming to its senior center breakfast program after hearing concerns from residents about a recent price increase. Officials say dozens of calls, emails, and 311 complaints were received after breakfast prices rose by 25 percent, prompting city leaders to review the program.
Hundreds of seniors rely on the breakfasts not only for an affordable meal but also for social interaction at local senior centers. Senior Affairs Director Anna Sanchez says the city plans to unveil a revised menu on July 31. The new options are expected to include lower-priced items, oatmeal, and additional meatless choices for seniors who do not eat eggs or pork products.
City officials say the goal is to offer more variety while keeping meals accessible to the seniors who depend on the program.
