Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Victor Gonzales took a plea deal today. He pled no contest to reckless abuse of a child resulting in death. An investigation revealed Gonzales and the child’s mother, Gabriella Muniz, went to sleep in the same bed as the 4 month old child after using narcotics. The infant was exposed to meth and stopped breathing. Gonzales also claimed he rolled over on top of the baby while he was sleeping. Investigators also learned the baby was born with fentanyl and meth in its system. Judge Brett Loveless accepted the plea deal and Gonzales was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Muniz’s court date is scheduled for later this month.
