Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — On Thursday city officials in Estancia passed a resolution declaring a water emergency. The town reports it’s experiencing issues that affect the water supply including challenges to maintain sufficient water reserves and pressure for drinking water and fire protection capabilities. The resolution also states that the town determined that continued operation under current conditions presents a risk of water shortages, service interruptions, inadequate fire suppression, and other threats to public safety. The city has requested assistance from state and federal agencies to address the water issue.
