Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The Flying Star restaurant has been an Albuquerque dining staple for almost 4 decades, but change is coming. Previous owners, Mark and Jean Bernstein, founded the first Flying Star in 1987, an ice cream company called “Double Rainbow” in Nob Hill. But now five longtime employees are now taking the ownership helm for guiding the future of Flying Star, Satellite Coffee, and its sister company, Rio Chan Foods. Thee employees include operations directors Jared Trujillo and Tom Sparks, along with CEO Carrisa Rivera, CFO Lynette Gurule-Thomas, and Vice President John Jones. The group says customers shouldn’t see any major changes, but they’re planning to expand community partnerships, and a new location could be coming soon.
