ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It’s a high-stakes night for the Colorado Avalanche as they try to keep their season alive in the NHL playoffs.
The Avalanche enter Game 4 of the Western Conference Final trailing the Vegas Golden Knights three games to none, putting them one loss away from elimination.
Colorado must win tonight’s matchup in Las Vegas to avoid a sweep and extend the best-of-seven series.
The Avs reached this point after a dominant regular season, finishing with one of the top records in the league, but have dropped three straight games to open the conference final.
Puck drop for Game 4 is set for Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena.
The game also carries local interest in New Mexico. The recently formed New Mexico Goatheads have been announced as an affiliate in the Avalanche development system, creating a direct connection between the NHL club and hockey in the state.
A win tonight keeps Colorado’s season alive — while a loss would send Vegas to the Stanley Cup Final.
