Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Two lawsuits have been filed, one in Bernalillo County the other in Otero, trying to oust state Republican Chair Amy Barela from her post .Otero County where Barela is running for a commissioner’s seat. Albuquerque attorney Robert Aragon, who would like to be the state GOP chair, says litigation is the only recourse because she won’t follow the rules and recuse herself from running for office in a contested race. Barela has maintained she is NOT in violation of party rules, and WON’T step down.
