ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police arrested a woman Friday night after a crash involving a marked patrol vehicle.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the incident happened around 10:20 p.m. on May 2 near the Speedway gas station at Aspen Avenue and Rio Grande Boulevard. Officers say 57‑year‑old Susan Gray was driving a black Honda Pilot and failed to yield while making a left‑hand turn, striking a parked, fully marked police unit.
Officers reported Gray appeared unbalanced and was stumbling at the scene. Police say she told officers she had been leaving her residence and was headed to the gas station to buy snacks. Gray also advised officers that she had taken prescription antidepressant medication.
A blood test later returned positive, and officers determined Gray was under the influence and not able to safely operate a vehicle. She was arrested on a DWI charge and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.
Police did not report any serious injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
