Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –An early morning shooting in Lovington today has resulted in the arrest of a suspect. Police said officers from the Lovington Police Department responded to a male who had been shot on East Avenue and with deputies from the Lea County Sheriff’s office began searching for the shooter. A firearm believed to be connected to the shooting was recovered and the suspect has been identified as 52 year old Ramon Romero. The victim died at the scene and has not yet been identified. Romero faces charges of murder, unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon and negligent use of a deadly weapon.
