Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A judge has dismissed the case against a veteran who previously admitted to shooting at Albuquerque police officers, following his completion of the Community Veterans Court Program. Jeremy Hovey faced up to 12 years in prison but instead completed treatment, counseling, and supervision designed for veterans with PTSD and substance abuse issues. The court ruled he met all conditions for a conditional discharge.Prosecutors agreed with the dismissal, though APD strongly opposed it. Hovey will not face additional probation.
