Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Advocates are calling on New Mexico to join several other states that have adopted regulations for self-driving commercial vehicles. The issue was raised before lawmakers last week, where speakers pointed to reported crashes involving automated driving systems and argued stronger oversight is needed before wider deployment. New Mexico currently allows testing of driverless vehicles with advance notice to the state. Lawmakers from both parties indicated they may consider additional safety requirements moving forward.
