Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Some New Mexicans will be paying more for health insurance next year. The New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance has approved 2027 rates for the small-group health insurance market, with premiums increasing by an average of 19.8 percent. The change affects plans offered through small employers and covers more than 31,000 New Mexicans. State officials say higher medical claims, increased health care costs, and changes in the insurance market helped drive the rate increases, which take effect January 1st.
