ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Early voting for the 2026 General Election begins Tuesday in Bernalillo County, giving voters their first opportunity to cast ballots ahead of the November election.
Voting will take place at the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Annex, located at 1500 Lomas Blvd. NW, where voters can also take advantage of Same-Day Registration services.
Bernalillo County Clerk Michelle Kavanaugh is scheduled to cast her ballot Tuesday morning as election officials mark the opening of the early voting period.
Important Election Dates
- Oct. 6: Early voting and Same-Day Registration begin at the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Annex.
- Oct. 12: Clerk’s Annex and Bernalillo County offices closed for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
- Oct. 16: Last day to vote early at the Clerk’s Annex before expanded voting begins.
- Oct. 17: Expanded early voting opens at 20 locations across Bernalillo County.
- Oct. 31: Last day of early voting.
- Nov. 3: Election Day.
Early voting at the Clerk’s Annex will continue Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 16. Beginning Oct. 17, voters will have access to 20 early voting locations throughout Bernalillo County. Most sites will operate Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Bernalillo County uses Voting Convenience Centers, meaning voters can cast their ballot at any voting location in the county rather than being assigned to a specific precinct.
County officials encourage voters to verify their registration status, review voting locations, and make a plan before heading to the polls.
