LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies have announced the results of a five-week crime reduction effort that led to 237 arrests in southern New Mexico.
The operation, known as Operation Triple Beam-Prolific, was led by the U.S. Marshals Service and ran from August 24 through September 25. Authorities focused on locating violent fugitives and targeting offenders connected to illegal firearms and narcotics activity in Las Cruces and surrounding communities.
According to officials, the operation resulted in:
- 237 arrests
- 17 firearms seized
- Two vehicles recovered
- 54 grams of cocaine seized
- 403.4 grams of methamphetamine seized
- 110 grams of fentanyl seized
The effort was coordinated through the U.S. Marshals Service’s Southwest Investigative Fugitive Team and involved multiple federal, state, and local agencies.
Law enforcement leaders said the operation was designed to identify and apprehend individuals wanted for violent crimes while also disrupting illegal drug activity and removing firearms from the community.
Participating agencies included the U.S. Marshals Service, FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration, Las Cruces Police Department, New Mexico State Police, New Mexico Corrections Department, and the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Officials say the operation reflects ongoing collaboration among law enforcement agencies aimed at reducing violent crime and improving public safety throughout southern New Mexico.
