ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The City of Albuquerque is celebrating the arrival of Halloween season with a full calendar of family-friendly events planned throughout October.
City officials say residents can choose from a variety of activities, including haunted houses, trunk-or-treat events, pumpkin-themed programs, skate activities and Día de los Muertos celebrations at community centers and other locations across Albuquerque.
Many of the events are free or low cost and are designed for children, families and community members of all ages.
Mayor Tim Keller said the goal is to provide opportunities for families to enjoy the season together while taking advantage of city facilities and neighborhood events.
Among the featured events this month:
- The Trails Have Eyes haunted house at the Joan Jones Community Center on multiple dates throughout October.
- Monster Mash Trunk or Treat on Oct. 24 at the Alamosa Community Center.
- Trunks & Treats on Oct. 24 at the Westgate Community Center.
- Operation Great Pumpkin on Oct. 28 at the Cesar Chavez Community Center.
The events are part of the city’s annual Halloween programming, which includes activities scheduled throughout the month in neighborhoods across Albuquerque.
