Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico Senate Democrats have selected Senator Linda Trujillo of Santa Fe as their new majority leader. Trujillo was chosen during a closed-door caucus meeting and becomes the first woman elected to the position. Democrats also selected Senator Cindy Nava as caucus whip and voted to keep Senator Leo Jaramillo as caucus chair. Trujillo says affordability issues will be a major focus when lawmakers return for the 60-day legislative session in January.
