Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)- Auto thefts continue to drop in Albuquerque according to new stats released by APD. The latest report indicates that auto theft is down 32-percent when compared to the same period of 2025 as its Auto Theft Unit continues targeting repeat offenders and recovering stolen vehicles. There have also been 37 arrests of people identified as among the Top 25 auto theft offenders.
Other year-to-date results include:
- 28 bait-car arrests and 23 bait-car activations
- 86 auto theft warrant arrests
- 56 repeat-offender arrests
- 12 firearms recovered
APD said officers will continue conducting operations around the New Mexico State Fair and the upcoming Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
