Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The New Mexico National Guard is helping both people and animals escape rising floodwaters in Socorro County. Officials say rescue crews evacuated three residents, along with 78 goats, one mule, and one dog stranded by flooding in the San Antonio area. The operation required rescuers to individually capture, carry, and load the animals onto boats before transporting them to safety.
