Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A former Walmart Supercenter in southeast Albuquerque remains vacant more than three years after closing its doors. The 209,000-square-foot property at 301 San Mateo SE was put on the market after closing in 2023, and despite a recent deadline for final offers, the site remains unsold. City officials say the property’s size and location make redevelopment challenging, though they believe it could eventually support a mixed-use project featuring housing, restaurants, and retail.
