Sunland Park, NM (KKOB) – New Mexico State Police is investigating a serious crash involving Border Patrol agents and members of the National Guard operating on the southern NM border.
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m., Thursday as State Police, Doña Ana County Fire Rescue responded to a two-vehicle crash on westbound NM 9 near milepost 121.
That’s the highway that runs along the border between Santa Teresa and Columbus.

The crash involved one U.S. Border Patrol agent and two National Guardsmen. Both vehicles were operated by the U.S. Border Patrol.
One occupant was airlifted, and another was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. a third occupant was not transported. The condition of the two transported is unknown currently.
State Police Officers are still working to determine the cause and manner of the crash.
