Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The meeting of the Doña Ana County Commission on Tuesday was a hot spot. Dozens of people who thought the county would host a town hall on Project Jupiter instead say there’s been a bait and switch. Opponents to the idea have called for an open forum to ask questions about Project Jupiter. Now, they’ve found out that an upcoming meeting will be hosted by private groups as an open house and job fair. Rallying together, dozens said they deserve to be heard over their concerns. At the heart of this week’s meeting, a large group of Doña Ana County residents said they’re not only worried about the project’s size, but also environmental impacts as well. An Oracle spokesperson has stated that an open house will be hosted by the data center’s developers on June 17th. The event, designed to maximize community participation and engagement, will give community members direct access to project representatives and subject matter experts to ask questions, and get the facts about the project.
