Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A major flood recovery program is beginning to take shape in Lincoln County. Officials say six property owners have accepted buyout offers through the county’s $235 million Emergency Watershed Protection Buyout Program, and at least three sales have already closed. The voluntary program allows residents in high-risk flood areas to sell their properties to the county following devastating post-wildfire flooding. County leaders say more than 260 properties have been identified as potentially eligible, with additional reviews still underway.
