ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An Albuquerque woman has been sentenced to prison for her role in a deadly shooting that killed a man outside a southeast Albuquerque apartment complex last year.
Munah Green was sentenced Tuesday to 11 years in prison after pleading no contest to second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder in connection with the death of Richard Powell.
According to investigators, the shooting occurred in April 2025 after a dispute outside an apartment complex. Police said a group that included Green and her family members had been banging on windows and doors when Powell confronted them and told them to leave.
Authorities allege the argument escalated, and Green instructed her then-17-year-old son, Rickey Rogers, to shoot Powell. Investigators say Rogers opened fire, striking Powell multiple times. Police said Powell fell to the ground, and Rogers then moved closer and fired additional shots. Powell died at the scene.
Green later entered a no-contest plea to the charges and was sentenced by Judge Jennifer Wernersbach.
Rogers was also charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder and has likewise entered a no-contest plea in the case.
The case stems from one of several homicide investigations handled by Albuquerque police in 2025.
