Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – A man who crashed into a vehicle driven by a 19 year old woman during a road rage incident in September of 2024 has been found guilty by an Albuquerque jury.
On Thursday, a jury convicted Austin Kevin Jones on charges of Great Bodily Injury by Vehicle by Reckless Driving.
The incident happened at Girard Boulevard and Gibson Boulevard when two muscle cars were drag racing as they traveled down Girard. According to police reports, Jones became angry and attempted to catch up to them. That’s when he crashed into a vehicle driven by the 19-year old woman. The victim suffered catastrophic injuries that left her paralyzed.
“This young woman was simply driving her car when someone else’s reckless actions changed her life forever. said DA Sam Bregman.
Jones’ sentencing date has not been announced.
