Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – An Albuquerque woman accused of killing her father has pleaded guilty to murder. Summer Coughran, 28, entered the plea Thursday in the January shooting death of 65-year-old Kirk Coughran at their northwest Albuquerque home.
Following the shooting, Coughran told police she acted in self-defense and alleged her father had assaulted her. Investigators, however, said evidence collected during the investigation did not match her version of events. The case will now move to sentencing, which is scheduled to take place at the beginning of next year.
