Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – Heavy rains and flash flooding are now in the forecast for just about the entire state of NM starting today till Thursday. Dangerous monsoon moisture coming into the state with wide spread showers and several periods of very heavy rain in some parts of the state between 4 to 6 inches are possible between the next two days. Flash flooding will happen, wind gusts of up to 50 mph, areas affected by recent wildfires will be affected even more due to burn scars. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has a Flash Flood Watch for most of the state starting today. Stay weather alert. Sandoval County/Rio Rancho:
Sandbags are available for Rio Rancho residents at all City fire stations.
Empty sandbags may be picked up daily from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and are limited to 10 bags per household. Please note: only bags are provided; sand is not included.
Sandbags are located in the outdoor storage benches near the front entrance of each fire station and may be picked up without entering the station.

Santa Fe County residents can fill sandbags at four Santa Fe County Fire Stations beginning at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
