ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Bernalillo County Treasurer’s Office has launched a new online service that allows property owners to view, download, and print copies of their property tax bills.
County officials say the feature was added in response to requests from residents who wanted easier access to their original tax bills beyond the tax summaries already available online.
According to the Treasurer’s Office, the online document is a copy of the original property tax bill issued for the current tax year. While it does not reflect payments made after the bill was issued or show current balances, officials say it can be used for purposes such as obtaining a REAL ID at the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division.
Treasurer Tim Eichenberg said the new tool is intended to improve customer service and provide property owners with a reliable way to access their records at any time.
Property owners can access the documents through the county’s online Property Tax Search by entering an address or parcel identification number. The bill can then be downloaded or printed directly from the website.
Officials note that ownership information may not immediately reflect recent property sales if a transaction occurred during the annual tax bill preparation period.
The Treasurer’s Office plans to update online tax bills each year by Nov. 1, or the next business day if the date falls on a weekend or holiday.
