Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico State football and NFL legend Fred Young has died at the age of 64. Young’s career with the Aggies spanned from 1980 through 1983, where he established himself as one of the program’s standout defensive players. He became one of just 18 players in New Mexico State football history to earn All-American honors. Young was selected 76th overall in the 1984 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and went on to play seven seasons in the league. He was also recognized among the top 50 players in franchise history.
