Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Gas prices in San Juan County are reaching some of the highest levels in New Mexico. On Tuesday, regular unleaded gasoline climbed to nearly $5 a gallon, while diesel prices approached $6.50 per gallon. County leaders say they’ve raised concerns with the New Mexico Department of Justice, noting fuel prices can be significantly cheaper in nearby communities. State officials say they’re reviewing pricing in the area to determine potential causes behind the persistent price gap.
