Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – Bernalillo County has received a $100,000 state grant to help reduce illegal tire dumping and expand recycling education efforts. County officials say the funding will support community outreach campaigns focused on proper tire disposal and rules limiting single-use plastic bags and polystyrene containers.
The grant will also help promote Tire Amnesty Day events, where residents can dispose of up to nine tires free of charge.
Officials hope the effort will reduce illegal dumping and increase awareness of available recycling programs.
