ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The 2026 New Mexico State Fair kicks off Thursday, Sept. 10, bringing 11 days of rides, food, entertainment, livestock competitions and special discounts designed to help fairgoers save money throughout the event.
Fair officials say a variety of appreciation days and discounted admission offers will be available through the fair’s final day on Sept. 20.
“We strive to keep the Fair affordable and accessible for all New Mexicans,” said State Fair General Manager Dan Mourning. “With these incredible discounts, we invite New Mexicans to get in on all the fun, including delicious fair foods and thrilling midway rides.”
Opening Day Specials: Sept. 10
The fair opens with some of its biggest discounts of the year, including:
- $2 admission
- $2 rides on the midway
- Graze Dayz, featuring select $5 food items from vendors
- Free admission for New Mexico law enforcement personnel with valid ID
Appreciation Days Throughout the Fair
Several groups will receive free or discounted admission during the fair:
Sept. 11
- Free admission for firefighters and first responders with valid ID
- $5 admission for state employees with proof of employment
Sept. 12-13
- Free admission for teachers and school employees
- $5 admission for state employees
Sept. 15
- Free admission for active-duty military members and veterans
- $5 online-only admission
Sept. 18-20
- $5 admission for city and county employees with proof of employment
Dollar Day Returns
One of the fair’s most popular promotions returns on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Dollar Day will feature:
- $1 admission
- $1 rides
Additional Savings
Discounted online admission will also be available on:
- Sept. 14
- Sept. 15
- Sept. 17
On those days, fairgoers can purchase admission online for $5, while gate prices will remain at regular cost.
Food lovers can also take advantage of another Graze Dayz promotion on Sept. 17, when vendors will offer select menu items for $5.
The New Mexico State Fair runs from Sept. 10 through Sept. 20 at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque.
