ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico United has added an experienced attacking player ahead of the postseason, acquiring Charlie Dennis on loan from Phoenix Rising FC.
The club announced the move Tuesday, saying the transaction was completed before the USL Championship roster freeze on Sept. 7.
Dennis, an attacking midfielder, will wear No. 14 for the Black and Yellow.
“I’m delighted to be joining this historic city. I can’t wait to meet everyone,” Dennis said in a statement. “I’ve felt this atmosphere many times and I’m looking forward to being on the right side of it.”
United Sporting Director Itamar Keinan said the club has tracked Dennis for several years.
“Charlie is someone we have known and monitored for years,” Keinan said. “I am excited we had the opportunity to welcome a player of his quality into our family to help us in our final push and into the playoffs.”
Dennis arrives with a strong offensive résumé, recording 36 goal contributions in USL Championship competition across three clubs.
The move gives New Mexico United additional attacking depth as the club prepares for the final weeks of the regular season and a postseason run.
