ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An Albuquerque woman accused of telling her teenage son to shoot a man during a confrontation outside an apartment complex has entered a no-contest plea.
Munah Green pleaded no contest Thursday to second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder in connection with the death of Richard Powell.
Green is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
According to Albuquerque police, the shooting happened in April 2025 at a southeast Albuquerque apartment complex.
Investigators said a group that included Green and her then-17-year-old son, Rickey Rogers, was confronting people at the complex when an argument broke out.
Witnesses told police that Powell came outside and told the group to leave. During the confrontation, Green allegedly instructed Rogers to shoot Powell.
Police said Rogers fired multiple rounds, striking Powell. Investigators allege Rogers then moved closer and fired additional shots after Powell fell to the ground.
Powell died at the scene.
Rogers was also charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He has entered a no-contest plea and is scheduled for an amenability hearing in October.
