ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Families will have a few more weeks to enjoy the ABQ BioPark’s popular Tadpole Springs splash pad before it closes for the season.
After welcoming thousands of visitors during its inaugural summer, the splash pad will transition to a weekend-only schedule beginning Sept. 8 and remain open through Oct. 11, weather permitting.
Located outside the ABQ BioPark Aquarium near the Shark Reef Café, Tadpole Springs features nature-themed water elements inspired by cattails, along with seating areas and family-friendly amenities.
BioPark officials say the attraction quickly became one of the most popular stops during its first season, with some days reaching capacity as visitors looked for relief from Albuquerque’s summer heat.
The splash pad is generally scheduled to operate on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., though hours and availability may vary depending on weather conditions.
The extended fall season gives visitors to the Aquarium and Botanic Garden additional opportunities to enjoy the attraction as temperatures begin to cool.
Guests are encouraged to reserve splash passes online before visiting.
