ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A health alert is in effect Tuesday for portions of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County due to elevated dust levels in industrial areas.
City officials issued the alert as blowing dust creates air quality concerns, particularly for people with respiratory conditions such as asthma and other breathing-related illnesses.
Residents who are sensitive to dust or poor air quality may experience increased irritation or breathing difficulties while dust concentrations remain elevated.
The advisory is scheduled to remain in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials continue to monitor conditions and say the alert could be adjusted depending on weather and air quality trends.
