Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – A 35-year-old man is facing kidnapping and battery charges after Santa Fe police say he followed a woman into a restroom at the Plaza Mercado and prevented her from leaving. According to investigators, the incident happened around 9 p.m. Monday at a business on West San Francisco Street. Police say the woman reported that a man followed her into a women’s restroom and held her there against her will. Authorities say the woman was eventually able to physically escape and call her father, who followed the suspect from Plaza Mercado to De Vargas Park while waiting for police to arrive. Responding officers arrested Alexander Corvison, 35. Police say he was also wanted on an active warrant for indecent exposure. Corvison is being held on charges of kidnapping and battery.
