ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque Isotopes outfielder Zac Veen has been named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for July 28 through Aug. 2 following a dominant performance during the club’s six-game sweep of the El Paso Chihuahuas.
Veen played a key role in one of the most productive offensive stretches in franchise history. Over six games, he went 13-for-29 at the plate with four doubles, one triple, four home runs and 14 RBI as Albuquerque set franchise records with 75 runs scored and 19 home runs in a single series.
The standout week saw Veen lead the Pacific Coast League in total bases (31), RBI (14), runs scored (11), slugging percentage (1.069) and OPS (1.584). He also finished among the league leaders in hits, doubles and home runs.
One of Veen’s biggest moments came Thursday when he helped spark a decisive five-run eighth inning by launching a solo home run before later drawing a bases-loaded walk in the same frame.
On Sunday, Veen added two doubles and a home run, marking his fourth game this season with at least three extra-base hits. According to the Isotopes, he became the first Albuquerque player to accomplish that feat in a single season since John Lindsey in 2010.
The 2026 campaign continues to be a breakout year for Veen. He also became just the eighth player in Isotopes history to record at least 20 home runs and 30 doubles in the same season, and the first since Wynton Bernard achieved the milestone in 2022.
The award is the fourth weekly honor of Veen’s professional career and adds to his growing list of accomplishments this season. Earlier this year, he was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Month for June.
Veen is the fourth Isotopes player to earn a weekly league award in 2026. Teammates Cole Carrigg and Charlie Condon were previously recognized for their offensive performances, while Eiberson Castellano earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
The Isotopes return home this week to begin a nine-game homestand against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys.
