Taos, NM (KKOB) – Residents in Taos are being asked to voluntarily conserve water after problems were discovered with the town’s water storage system. Town officials say utility crews found a malfunction affecting the system that manages the community’s water tanks, causing water levels to drop to critical levels. Crews also located a leak near one of the tanks and temporarily took it offline for repairs.
The tank has since been returned to service, but officials say work continues to restore storage levels throughout the system.
