Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Three men are accused in a federal case involving the sale of New Mexico elk hunting tags. Prosecutors say the group fraudulently obtained tags meant for state residents and transferred them to out-of-state hunters for a fee. According to the indictment, the scheme involved fake hunter profiles, false identifying information, and forged documents submitted to state wildlife officials. The charges include conspiracy, wire fraud, and violations of federal wildlife laws under the Lacey Act. Officials say the case is now moving forward in federal court.
