Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) The search is on for a man who is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry from stores across the city. Jesus Herrera is a repeat offender with an extensive criminal history, who authorities believe has been involved in at least five incidents at multiple jewelry stores. Video shows Herrera at the JC Penney store in Cottonwood Mall in November of 2024 where he is seen grabbing an item from a clerk and running away with it. That necklace was valued at $19,000. Another video shows Herrera snatching two gold chains from a clerk’s hands estimated at nearly $12,000. He is accused of stealing almost $69,000 worth of jewelry from stores over the past two years. A warrant has been issued for Herrera’s arrest and he is facing felony robbery and larceny charges.
