A press conference was held today (Wed) on the efforts of Operation Triple Beam-Shadow Break a multi agency law enforcement effort to combat crime in NM, led by the U.S. Marshalls office. Operation Triple Beam was conducted over a 90-day period from November 2025 through this February using Federal, State, Local and Tribal partners led by the U.S. Marshalls Service. FBI Deputy Director, Andrew Bailey was in attendance and said, “I cannot be more proud of the FBI Albuquerque Field office for its fierce dedication and relentless commitment to these principles. Operation Triple Beam-Shadow Break was a coordinated multi-agency fugitive apprehension effort and its results speak for themselves.” Those efforts resulted in 920 arrests, 59 firearms seized, 1100 warrants cleared and significant quantities of narcotics were removed from NM’s streets. Federal charges were brought against 5 individuals and more could come as cases are filed. All agencies in attendance said efforts to combat crime are not over and there’s more work to be done. Specifically NM Department of Public Safety Secretary, Jason Bowie expressed frustration with the legislature and the lack of crime bills being heard during session.
